Career Opportunities

To operate as: Farm Hand (Poultry Production).

Tasks May Include:

Operating and maintaining equipment
Identifying and preparing materials
Calculating and formulating
Grading and quality inspection
Advising on selection and manufacturing / preparation

Duration

Can be undertaken over 12 months full time or 24 months part time equivalent

Requirements

A total of 17 units of competency must be completed

Select 9 units from Group A (including the 4 designated compulsory units)
Select 5 additional units from Group A and/or B below
Select 3 additional units from Group A and Group B and/or C below

Units should be selected from Group A and Group B in accordance with local work undertaken and local industry advice.

RTE2141A	Set up shed for placement of day-old chickens
RTE2142A	Collect and pack eggs for human consumption
RTE2147A	Beak trim chickens
RTE2150A	Maintain intensive production growing environments
RTE2214A	Clean out intensive production sheds

GROUP B

RTC2210A	Maintain properties and structures
RTC2301A	Undertake operational maintenance of machinery
RTC2306A	Operate vehicles
RTC2309A	Operate tractors
RTC2706A	Apply chemicals under supervision
RTE2110A	Maintain livestock water supplies
RTE2146A	Mix and mill standard stock feed
RTE2707A	Follow site quarantine procedures
RTE2901A	Observe enterprise quality assurance procedures
RTE2902A	Collect and record production data

GROUP C
This Group includes other units of competency from RTE03 Rural Production, and/or other endorsed Training Packages within our scope.

Requirements

IIFP must be granted access to workplace staff and training/assessment rescources
to meet the requirements of candidates with special needs and modify
an assessment approach that incorporates reasonable adjustments to their needs.

On completion of this certificate. Graduates can progress through various levels
up to Advanced Diploma, using a range of study modes.
