Career Opportunities

To operate as: Horse Farm Hand.

Tasks May Include:

Operating and maintaining equipment
Identifying and preparing materials
Calculating and formulating
Grading and quality inspection
Advising on selection and manufacturing / preparation

Duration

Can be undertaken over 24 months full time or 48 months part time equivalent

Requirements

A total of 17 units of competency must be completed

Select 9 units from Group A (including the 4 designated compulsory units)
Select 5 additional units from Group A and/or B below
Select 3 additional units from Group A and Group B and/or C below

Units should be selected from Group A and Group B in accordance with local work undertaken and local industry advice.

MNC.G25.A	Access, update and retrieve simple computerised information
MNC.G26.A	Operate a computer to produce documents
RGR007A	Handle horses or greyhounds safely
RTC2209A	Install, maintain and repair fencing
RTC2210A	Maintain properties and structures
RTC2301A	Undertake operational maintenance of machinery
RTC2306A	Operate vehicles
RTC2706A	Apply chemicals under supervision
RTE2110A	Maintain livestock water supplies
RTE2114A	Monitor water supplies
RTE2115A	Muster and move livestock
RTE2132A	Assist with artificial insemination procedures
RTE2137A	Assist with natural mating procedures and parturition in horses
RTE2308A	Operate ride-on vehicles

GROUP C
This Group includes other units of competency from RTE03 Rural Production, and/or other endorsed Training Packages within our scope.

Infastructure
Requirements

IIFP must be granted access to workplace staff and training/assessment rescources
to meet the requirements of candidates with special needs and modify
an assessment approach that incorporates reasonable adjustments to their needs.

On completion of this certificate. Graduates can progress through various levels
up to Advanced Diploma, using a range of study modes.

Location

Training is delivered in the workplace at various industry locations.
